Story depicted on this hand painted Kalamkari frame :

Kamsa, the evil king of Mathura wanted to kill his nephew Krishna as it was prophesied that Krishna would be the reason for Kamsa's death. Kamsa ordered the demon Arishtasura to kill Krishna. The demon transformed himself into a bull and went to Vrindavan hunting from Krishna where he found many kids playing. To help his hunt for Krishna to be easier, he started wrecking havoc by destroying houses and uprooting trees. Krishna, hearing the screams of the villagers came to the direction of the village from his cattle and fellow cowherds. Upon seeing the bull, he recognised it to be a demon and mocked him. The raged bull charged at Krishna, as the Lord stood his ground. Krishna caught one of the horns of the bull and swirled him vigorousy in the air, threw him on the ground breaking his horn. Bleeding profusely, the bull died after a painful cry.
